PassportPhotoGuide does not collect, store or transmit the photos you check. That is not a policy promise, it is the architecture: the checker is a single JavaScript file that reads your file with the browser's own FileReader, draws it to a canvas element, and measures the resulting pixels. No request containing your photo is ever made, because no part of the checker is designed to make one.
What this means in practice. The photo you drop on the checker exists only in the memory of that browser tab. Nothing is written to our side — there is no upload endpoint, no storage bucket and no queue. Refresh or close the tab and it is gone. The only things the checker remembers are stored in your own browser: the last document you selected and a short list of checks you ran during the visit, both kept in local storage on your device so the page is useful if you return to it. Clearing site data removes them instantly.
Standard hosting metadata applies to any website. Our static files are served from Cloudflare, which processes request information such as IP address and user agent to deliver pages and filter abuse, under Cloudflare's own terms. The site sets no advertising cookies, embeds no social pixels and runs no cross-site trackers. Aggregate page-view statistics, if enabled, are counted without cookies and without identifying individual visitors. If you email us, we receive the message and the address you sent it from, and keep it only as long as it takes to answer.
The site is not directed at children under 13 and collects no information from them. Because no photo is uploaded, there is no image to breach, sell, subpoena or retain. If that ever changes — if a feature were added that required a server — this page would be rewritten before the feature shipped, and the date below would move.
